Technology is amazing now. And nobody’s happy.

It’s a simple fact, but it seems we’re never happy even with the astronomical amount of technology that we’ve got. There’s multiple theories, and multiple examples, so I won’t belabor the point by merely rehashing what I read elsewhere. Just check out the page and make sure to watch the video at the bottom. Best inventions of ’08

True, 2008 isn’t quite over, but I guess TIME has declared it the appropriate, er.. time, to tell you what the top inventions of this year are. Perhaps it’s because I’ve always been a geek at heart and loved science, but I couldn’t help but keep clicking on the next one until I got through all the different inventions. Granted, some aren’t quite inventions in the conventional sense, but probably closer to a discovery or social movement. But regardless, I think it’s interesting to see things that match what, up until just a few years ago, would be considered science fiction. The top invention is a great example, as is the new prosthetic bionic hand, which looks eerily like the arm from Terminator.

If there’s a science geek in you, raise your Terminator arm and enjoy.
