So you may have noticed that my domain was down for a little while. When I went to renew the domain name, I was asked for a username/password. I forgot the password. So I told it to reset my password and send me the link in email.
One problem.
It was to an email that I no longer use. From 6 years ago. Uh-oh. That’s trouble. When I contacted the domain registrar, I was told that I needed to fax the new email address that is to be associated with the account and a picture ID like a license. Sent all that in. Then I’m told that the address on the license doesn’t match the address that I registered with, which was my old apartment when I was in college!
ARGH.
I explained that I live there anymore, and it still didn’t seem to make any difference. So for now my hosting company has just charged my new card with the old login info and we’ll see how long that goes. The only trouble of course is, ‘What happens when it’s time to renew again?’ Yeah. So hopefully I’ll get a response back from Tucows that will explain how I’m supposed to circumvent this but Tera-byte, the hosting company, has been excellent at helping stuff to get through. So mad props to them.
If anyone’s ever looking for a host, I’d go for Tera-Byte. Sure they don’t have a snazzy lookin’ website. But their tech support is phenomenal and their prices are affordable. I’d definitely recommend.
Alright I’m out.
And no, I’m not talking about the national championship game. Like ever… okay maybe later sometime when I’m not down about it. Haha.

Granted, the explanation is simplistic, and the product isn’t even released as of yet, but the sheer genius behind a whole new way of thinking about web browsers is definitely something that caught my eye. The idea of bringing comic-book illustrations to explain complex ideas is wonderful; you should definitely check out Google’s new attempt at creating a browser.

So I finally upgraded my WordPress installation from what, like 2.1?? (This is 2.5 now.) I feel so behind the times. I was actually pretty impressed with how easy it was, but I totally would not have done it unless I got the spam injects that I was getting. Apparently there were a lot of hidden spam about Viagra and Levitra injected into my main template file. Suck. So hopefully this will stick and I won’t have to worry about ruining my SEO because Google sees my page as a spam site.
However my picture gallery isn’t working properly; I’ll work on that stuff tomorrow sometime I guess.
Peas!

Those of you who complained that the iPhone can now stop. Apple is going to be releasing a brand new accessory to help with said issue.
Enjoy.

That’s the only thing I can think of for them continuing head-first into hardcore advances in robotics. Not that I don’t think it’s pretty frickin sweet, but come on man! They’ll take over and kill all humans! Watch movies!
Actual quote taken from the MSNBC article:
“Robots are already taken for granted in Japanese factories, so much so that they are sometimes welcomed on their first day at work with Shinto religious ceremonies. Robots make sushi. Robots plant rice and tend paddies.”
Stop with the infatuation with Japanese school girls and Hello Kitty already!

The truth is, if you’re buying from one of the major PC manufacturers, you’ll have a lot of crap pre-installed on your computer. At the very least they’re annoying and unnecessary. At the most it can severely cripple performance and make it hard to run your computer at the full speed at which it’s intended.
I ran across this site and though I haven’t tested it (I tend to just format my drive whenever I get a new computer and install my own stuff and drivers), PCDecrapifier seems to be exactly what most new computer users should be using. It takes out the horrid WildTangent Games, pesky Symantec subscriptions, and so forth.
Give it a whirl, it’s been cited by PC World as a good program.
Take care.
