Call it Yin-Yang, call it Karma, call it what you will. But it looks like Oklahoma’s football team is about to get jumped by Auburn in the BCS rankings. How likely is it that it’ll happen? Well Auburn has actually tied with OU for the AP poll and are only two points behind OU in the Coaches’ poll. The BCS rankings dont come out until later, but I think fans in Norman, Oklahoma are in for a sore surprise.
And I’ll be one of them.
Holy crap. Now I’m not one to really campaign for ignoring certain regions of the country exclusively, but check out this quote from DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe:
“…officially announcing that the party would “totally write off the South” in 2008. “We have told the South to take their electoral votes and shove them,” McAuliffe said.”
-MSNBC.com
Damn. To be honest though, I totally agree with him. I’ve decided that in general, the South is going to be hardcore Republican (especially backward states like Oklahoma that elect people who want to “restrict the rampant lesbianism in Southeastern Oklahoma by eradicating it.” – Yes you Tom Coburn). The rest of the country has more of a chance of being swing states, but states that you all remember as being part of the ‘wrong side’ of the Civil War should stay Republican until their last Confederate Flag death.

Not that anyone cares, but I think it deserves saying that I think that Mozilla’s Firefox 1.0 (finally) is something of a marvel. It definitely puts IE with some stiff competition, and more importantly, is completely workable with IE-oriented websites that other browsers had troubles with earlier. (Using Opera on ESPN.com for instance.)
Alright, after that bit of… nerdiness.. I’m out.
Quote of the Day
“I think a case could be made that ignorance played at least as big a role in the election’s outcome as values. A recent survey by the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland found that nearly 70 percent of President Bush’s supporters believe the U.S. has come up with “clear evidence” that Saddam Hussein was working closely with Al Qaeda. A third of the president’s supporters believe weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq. And more than a third believe that a substantial majority of world opinion supported the U.S.-led invasion.
This is scary. How do you make a rational political pitch to people who have put that part of their brain on hold? No wonder Bush won. ”

Alright so you’ve GOT to try this–
type in “miserable failure” into Google and hit “I’m feeling lucky”.
The result is hilarious.

So my play starts TOMORROW and I’m going through massive rehearsals right now. We’re not necessarily disorganized- it’s that we’ve just had too many things to do to get it right. Check this– the day before the play, and we’re going to have our FIRST run-through tonight.
Not. Kidding.
So we’re gonna have two run throughs tonight, including the DVD being shot tonight so that it can be sold at some point in the future, I suppose.
Want more stress? Sure why not. Here’s an extra helping..
I’m also hosting Diwali Night at OU, and my co-host Angel and I have met a few times to discuss what should be done for it. However, it’s not coming across as being as witty as we’d like, and we’re trying hard. I think we’re just gonna have to resort to being.. oh you know, PROFESSIONAL. That might be okay, and I hope it is. Whew.
Alright, I’m out.
