Wow so frikkin rainy today. Boring as hell except that I got a screenplay/play done today with Vinni. It’s for a skit in for a few friends of ours, in which Vinni and I will also be acting. The hardest parts about any of this however is this: 1) Getting everyone together, and 2)Getting the editing done.

I have one week to teach Vinni how to edit with Adobe Premiere 6, get all the footage in even though I don’t have a camera, and transfer it to tape. I have one DAY to shoot everything with all the participants. Honestly, I anticipate the editing taking longer than the shooting, but I know that it’ll be a very long day on Saturday for everyone. VERY.

So now I’m thinking of taking a trip to Pa. to visit my friend Prachi. She’s way cool too and if I’m going across the country to meet friends, why not go there too, right? Interesting.

Woohoo! I’ve got comments now on the site. I decided, hell, I’m back from LA and I better do something worthwhile. I know! I’ll put commenting on the site. The trip was awesome by the way, and I had a total blast. Val was definitely the most gracious and wonderful host I’ve ever known. EVER.

Alright, peas..

I was a total tourist yesterday. I went around taking photos like the Asian man that I am all over Hollywood. It’s something that I’ll look fondly on later, but at the time I felt like a total shmuck. Anyway, Val continues to be a totally gracious and wonderful host and I’m having a lot of fun. Tonight we’ll be going to a radio show where I’ll meet the Indian guy from Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. Kal Penn. I don’t really know the origin of that name, but hey- if he claims he’s Indian I’m happy with that.

So yesterday Val took me to FORTY DEUCE, a burlesque revue show, where one of the girls dancing was Owen Wilson’s girlfriend. Lemme tell ya- she’s a cute number.

After that we checked out BRASS MONKEY which is a karaoke bar. One problem though- I didn’t get to karaoke. I was plastered. No just kidding, the place was full for the night with karaokers. No more space for me.

Anyway, today’s a free day and we’re probably gonna check out more apartments like we did yesterday, and I’m excited because Chiku will be comin around to hang wif me.

Quote of the Day

“This set is bueno… that’s ‘good’ in Spanish.”

-Terrance

Alright so today I went to the set of a new show called Jury Duty, which is a reality-TV show that’s kinda like Judge Judy, etc. The difference (I think) is that you get more interaction with the jurors, the jurors can ask questions, and perhaps– just perhaps– it might be a parody. If it IS a parody then great. If not, well hell, I was just happy to be an extra.

Val was one of the jurors and I was in the audience making, “Oooohs,” and “Aaahhhs.” Not exactly Oscar-worthy material but hey, I was on a set and I was happy. Plus I met a cool cat named Terrance, who is the source of today’s Quote of the Day.

Check this out from CNN.com. It talks about the population explosion that is expected blah blah blah..

“We knew as soon as the troops came back that we were going to have a population explosion,” Bowman said.

They say ‘He got back, and yup, now I’m pregnant!”‘

Niice.

Adventure for today- I went to a sushi bar yesterday and it was AWWESOME. Val and I tried a number of things, but the two that intrigued me the most were oysters and Tiger’s Eye.

Now note, I’ve never had oyster before, so it was an eye opening experience. Either way, it was covered in a spicy sauce and some Japanese herbs. Very smooth and cool.

Tiger’s Eye was even cooler. Not as cool as its namesake, but it was squid stuffed with a number of crisp vegetables and maybe.. more squid? Who cares, I was in heaven.

I’ll keep updating this with more gastronomical delights as time goes on.

So I’m in L.A. right now and hanging out at Val’s place. I was like a total kid with all the interesting things around here; different or interesting I can’t really tell yet. Either way, I’m sure this is going to be a whole blast of a time..

Incidentally, she’s also my quote of the day for today.

Quote of the Day

“The Spanish are just snobby Mexicans.”

So I can’t sleep at all right now. We’re leaving for Chicago in two hours.. actually less than that, and I’m completely insomniatic. (is that a word? it is now!) This, I suppose, is good because I may not get sleepy through the night, but I’m afraid that I’ll get sleepy while driving. Gulp.

Either way I’m doing the night shift because there’s no way in hell that I can deal with driving during the day. I’m a vampire- the daytime is horrible for me.

Why am I going to the Windy City you ask? Good one- I’m going to a wedding where I’ll be a groomsman. Do I know the dude? No clue. He’s somehow related to me, that’s all I know. He’s from India so they just had to accrue all the people they could from the States who were somehow related to him! How lucky I am to be one of them…. or something.

You know, there’s only so much Bush-bashing I can take, I realized yesterday. Why? No no, not because I love our beloved President, it’s because I dislike him so much that any further motivation to dislike him further will just push me over the edge.

I watched Fahrenheit 9/11 yesterday. Wow, what a scathing documentary on the Administration. I hope most people get to see it, but alas, I know that this isn’t possible. It’s oh-so-slightly biased, so it’s gonna take a little bit of cajoling to get Republicans to see it. Translation: It ain’t gonna happen.

Would I watch it again? no. Would I recommend it? yes.

I’m BACK!

Okay fine, I’ve been back for about a week now, but just now got the motivation to blog. The trip was insanely good and I’ll put up pics in a while. I dont even know where to begin other than I got engaged; she’s a great girl and I hope that we have 1.5 kids, a dog, and a white picket fence.

Okay fine, I lied. (Not kidding– I lied.) I didn’t get engaged, it’s just that it’s the number one question that I get asked when I tell people that I’ve graduated and also gone to India. Anyway, since it’s been a while, it seems like a Quote of the Day is necessary. This one is from my friend Audra, when we were grocery shopping.

Quote of the Day

“I look for the really thick ones.”

Audra, talking about bacon. (Or was she?..)
