THOUGHT for the day

“There are many things in life that are more important than money. And they all cost money.”
-Radio comedian Fred Allen

I’d like to know, do you think this is true? If so, to what extent? If not, what doesn’t require money but is more important than it? Leave a comment all you people who I know are reading (Josh, my mom, etc.) and don’t usually leave comments. This one’s your chance to talk back to me. I’ll post the best response up.

To me,putting my faith in Jesus and accepting Him as the Lord of my life is more impt. than money but costs me no money(though it cost God His Son’s life) It is very impt. for me to spend time with my family and have fun with my babies which cost me no money.

i totally agree with the “mother of your life”…amama rocks.
Actually the best things in life come for free, like spending time with god, walking on a beach, watching a sunset, being in the presence of your loved ones or loving someone. :)

I knew watching romantic comedies would help me someday…

Ok I shall play the D’s Advocate - can you spend time with your loved ones and enjoy it if you are all starving on a street corner homeless? Can you walk on the beach, when you dont even leave near one or have the $$$ to get to one? Can your endless love for your beloved fill your empty stomach? Consider this: when you are broke ( and I mean extremely so) and hungry and jobless - tell me that you will sit with your spouse/family/siblings/friends and you will “be happy”. Nope. Now you’re gonna say, oh no is thaat poor or needy. No? then THERE is a basic amount of money you need to be happy, and therefore, those important things such as spending time with loved ones come only after we have been fed, clothed, and have a roof over our heads. Otherwise, its just misery loving company…

money is important to people who are devoted to society. sometimes i think about it, and i would be a happy hobo, because the smallest things i would recieve, be it a place to sleep in, or food for the night, i would be happy. where as, if i didnt get the best of the best food on prom, i’d be really upset.

belief in God is what sould keep anyone going. faith is really important.

To the advocate for the poor and needy
If you counsel one poor person to get up from where he/she is (sitting in that dark corner hungry and blaming fate whole life) and volunteer to wash one car today, I will help that person to have 3 meals today which he/she can even share with the family that he/she has and enjoy some sort of satisfaction from working for your own needs rather than being lazy.(This of course excludes those that are unable to do anything at all)This will also teach the next generation to be working for their needs instead of sending them out in the streets to beg. There are so many people out there willing to extend their helping hands to the poor if they are willing to help themselves. We can do something about poverty if we all work together. It is a challenge.Happiness is what you have to pursue,it wont come after you.

I definitely feel/know there are more things in life that are important than money that are priceless. I can’t put a price on people I have in my life… my family, my chakara kutta (Edit: Vinoj) and his family (everyone of them who’ve welcomed me without any inhibitions and continue to shower me with love, affection and blessings every day), Virginia and Promod (and other friends who’ve been there and continue to be there), Seena uncle and family and I can go on…. God has blessed me with a very comfortable life and comfort does come with money to a certain extent. I’m not doing anything special or throwing money at anyone to be loved. If I was out on the streets, would I’ve been acknowledged, I’m not sure. Money is essential to get through each day, it makes me feel secure, it’s easier to feed and quench my wants and needs, and it’s a great feeling to splurge on my loved one’s and see there face light up. All this gives me immense pleasure but it’s so short lived. Relationships and experiences can’t be bought and nothing makes me more complete and ecstatic than this. I can’t put a price on words that make me smile, blush, and make me feel like I’m on top of the world, my tears of joy/pain, memories …. I know someone’s watching over me and loves me dearly but, I don’t remember buying or paying for it/Him.
