If you missed last night’s Grammy Awards, there was a performance by Kanye West that was absolutely sublime. He started off with a duet with Daft Punk on his hit Stronger, and then performed an original song he had written after his mother’s death.
It brought tears to my eyes. The simplicity, the genuineness, the pain, and the unadulterated love for someone you can only call, “Mama.”

As a side note, his remarkable album Graduation was passed over for Album of the Year by some random dedication album to Joni Mitchell. A travesty.
