The truth is, if you’re buying from one of the major PC manufacturers, you’ll have a lot of crap pre-installed on your computer. At the very least they’re annoying and unnecessary. At the most it can severely cripple performance and make it hard to run your computer at the full speed at which it’s intended.
I ran across this site and though I haven’t tested it (I tend to just format my drive whenever I get a new computer and install my own stuff and drivers), PCDecrapifier seems to be exactly what most new computer users should be using. It takes out the horrid WildTangent Games, pesky Symantec subscriptions, and so forth.
Give it a whirl, it’s been cited by PC World as a good program.
Take care.
